Din l-Art Helwa Youth Section proudly announce the completion of another successful Restoration Youth Exchange. The annual project, held in collaboration with French NGO Partners Rempart and newly participating Israeli partners SPIHS, was held at the 19th Century Neo-Classic ‘Historic Garden of Rest’. The project entitled “Crossing Borders for the Preservation of our Shared Heritage”, brought together 6 young volunteers from each participating country, who for the duration of the exchange carried out works of restoration at this prestigious garden that overlooks the Pieta Creek. Works included re-pointing of several bastion walls as well as laying of gravel path along bastion perimeter. Restoration works were supervised by Restoration Directorate restorers Tony Mifsud and Josef Dalli , as well as conservator James Licari.
This initiative, organized by young architect Tara Cassar and led by History of Art Student Alexandra Camilleri, was part financed by the EUPA through the Erasmus+ Programme.
