The Malta Independent, 12th May 2008 – Heritage Malta is organising a Certificate Course in Caring for Historic Houses, intended primarily for homeowners, professionals and crafts persons and others involved in the caring of houses of character and historic houses in Malta.
The course will help participants appreciate better the urban development of old towns and villages and the architectural development within them. It will also give guidance on the best practices which are to be used in the conservation, restoration, rehabilitation and use of these houses. This will give better knowledge on what is possible to be done by yourself and when the professional needs to be called in.
The 10-hour course will take place at Heritage Malta’s head office in Merchants Street Valletta on Thursday 22, Tuesday 27 and Thursday 29 May, and Tuesday 3 and Thursday 5 June, between 6 and 8pm and will be delivered by experts who have been professionally trained in the field and who have several years of experience. The final session will be held on site in Zejtun. Heritage Malta is offering this course at a special introductory price of e60 for the public and e50 for Heritage Malta members. The closing date for applications is Thursday 15 May. The course is being sponsored by Attard & Co Industrial Ltd.
