‘THE AUSTRALIAN BUNGALOW`
A potential World Heritage transboundary nomination
Dr Ray Bondin, a renowned expert on World Heritage, will explain the unique importance of what is known as the Australian Bungalow, built to assist Maltese migrants planning to move to Australia and assist them acclimatise with their future environment. It is a unique heritage in that it is the only surviving example of all those similar units sent to Europe. It has potential for a transboundary nomination with Australia because it is a piece of Australian heritage in Malta. And it is unique. It would certainly be a good candidate for World Heritage listing because of its universal value.
