OPEN DAY AT HAL MILLIERI CHAPEL

The annual celebration in honour of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary at the medieval chapel of Ħal Millieri (Żurrieq) will this year be held on Sunday 17th March 2013.  For the occasion the chapel will be open to the public from 9:00 am to 6:00 p.m. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m, followed by the blessing of the adjoining churchyards.  Din l-Art Helwa, the volunteer heritage organisation that holds the chapel in trust, will be offering two guided tours of the site by historians Dr Stanley Farrugia Randon at 11:00 a.m and Mr Salvator Mousu’ at 3:00 p.m.  We have just completed the rewiring of the chapel and installed new alarm systems, so please donate generously.   To find the Chapel, please take the first turning right at the football ground on Blue Grotto Avenue after the round about at the entrance to Zurrieq and then proceed down the country lane. A second fork right will take you to the chapel which is hidden amongst tall cypress groves.

The fully illustrated new book written by Dr Stanley Farrugia Randon for Din l-Art Helwa, entitled ‘Hal Milleri’. will be on sale.
