Synopsis

The lecture will focus on an exclusive collection of drawings of the Ggantija Temples in the National Collection dating back to the early 19th century. These drawings, together with other illustrations including watercolours, engravings and lithographs, are the subject of a recent publication by Heritage Malta. The lecture will also give attention to a number of noteworthy visitors who visited this megalithic temple site on Gozo in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The Speaker

Nicoline Sagona holds a B.A. (Hons.) in History of Art (2001) and M.A. with Distinction in Cultural Heritage Management (2008).  She is active in the field of art-historical research and has published papers and delivered lectures related to the subject.  From 2005 till 2008 she occupied the post of Curator of the Ggantija Temples within Heritage Malta.  She is currently Manager of Gozo Museums and Sites within the same agency.
