Dear Friend of Din l-Art Ħelwa
 
The many supporters of Din l-Art Ħelwa are well aware of the sterling work
constantly carried out by the various teams and volunteers in an effort to
maintain and upkeep our precious Maltese Heritage.  Having just celebrated
the 50th anniversary since its inception it is imperative that we soldier
on steadfastly towards 2018 when Valletta becomes the European Capital of
Culture. The historical sites and monuments in our care are on the
increase, which obviously means that our expenses are forever on the rise.

We need to reach out; not only to our members and friends, but also to
their friends and to this end we are introducing a new event into the Din
l’Art Ħelwa’s calendar. Inspired by the tasteful redecoration of the
Hotel Phoenicia and thanks to their keen co-operation we are hosting an
exclusive gala dinner to be held at the Ballroom on the 4th of November.
Dress will be black tie or dark suit.

The evening will be hosted by our Executive President Ms Maria Grazia
Cassar, whilst the entertainment will be professionally compered. Music for
dancing will be provided by Vinny’s five piece Band, accompanied by
Andreana’s dulcet tones.  

This special fund raising event will include a traditional auction of a few
select paintings and sculptures. You will also have the opportunity to bid
privately for exceptional hotel stays, some in executive suites, at superb
5 star hotels in Rome, Budapest, London, Malta and Recanati in Italy, all
kindly donated by friends of Din L-Art Ħelwa.  You could also bid for a
day’s charter on a 52/54 foot sailing boat or a brass band to play for up
to 45 minutes at your private party or celebration. Bidding for one or more
of these items offers you an opportunity for a voucher which you could
utilize to celebrate a special occasion of your own or to gift it to
somebody you love. It would make a wonderful birthday or Christmas present!
Be generous: the amount of your bid, if it is the highest, will go to Din l-
Art Ħelwa and you can spoil yourselves. The winners will be declared on
the night but the individual bids will remain confidential.  
 
We envisage that this event would be, not only an elegant occasion, with
excellent food and wine in a relaxed and newly refurbished setting, but
also beneficial to our cause.  Your attendance and support will ensure that
we can continue our work protecting and enhancing our natural and built
heritage.  Never was there such a time as this when our landscape,
townscapes and culture needs all the protection it can get.
 
We would be delighted to welcome you and your friends on Saturday, 4th
November 2017 at 7.30 pm at The Phoenicia.  Remember, of course, that
places are limited and we would appreciate it if you would kindly indicate
your attendance as soon as possible.
